I saw Meltia live. I don't know, I'm already an idol fan so I guess my standards are pretty low?

I really liked it anyways. They're not great at performing even for idol standards, but they also have much lower production values. Groups like AKB are better yeah (even when they were indies), because they had the backing of Akimoto Yasushi who is really well known in the Japanese entertainment industry. Given proper training, I think Meltia would be much better.

I met Nadeshiko and Mero. Mero asked me what brand dress I was wearing and I said Emikyu, but she didn't have a reaction like she knew what I was talking about. (It could also be my poor Japanese). But I won't fault them for it, not like Babymetal liked metal before.

I think they do have their own niche even in idol world in terms of music in addition to the outfits. It's really cute and whimsical. There's not a lot of other girl groups in the market like that at the moment. A lot of them are following the Kpop trend and doing EDM music.

I'm pretty sure Meltia is just a part time gig for them considering how indies they are. So I don't think their life is as suffering as Girl's Generation or something. Not all idols are created equal.

Emiri might have possibly been kicked out, but I doubt it. She had a proper graduation ceremony. If she left on bad terms, there wouldn't even be that.
