If we go on a similar issue, how do we deal with character without specific race/etnicities?Those two character are italian and there as been drama because a mexican and japanese cosplayer darken they skin for the blond character. A lot of people claimed it was brown/race/black facing. Comming from the author the tan skin is mostly to have contrasting color palette for the duo, since character of other ethnicities with background linked to that had appeared in the same manga . And the same go with a lot of anime where dark skined character appears without being human or non white. How do a light skin cosplayer should deal with this, especially when it's a key element of the charadesign ?
