Seconding the cringe. Sorry about your parents, anon.

I can't tell half the time if my mom's family is trying to be helpful or just making fun of me. I've told these ones before, so sorry for the repost.
>Christmas with the extended family one year
>Presents are exchanged, night is winding down when…
>"Anon! We have something special for you!"
>"Thanks Aunt and family! Oh, it's…a children's yukata set! It's so cute!" …and for a ten-year-old, but I appreciate the gesture.
>"Our Japanese exchange student gave it to us a few years ago and we thought you'd like it! Try it on!"
>"Thank-you, that's so kind! But I don't want to take up too much time, so maybe I'll try it on later?"
>"Try it on! Try it on!"
>"Well… it's actually for a child and it'll be too small on me…"
>"Try it on! Try it on!!" More relatives start in the chant. My mom tells me to stop being stubborn &just put it on
>I put it on, it's tiny on me, it looks ridiculous
>Relatives all explode with laughter. Haha, yes, it looks silly, I know.
>"Anon, you're so stupid!!!! Why would you put on something so small? HAHAHA"
>wow thanksssss
Did they give it to me to laugh? Did they give it to me because they actually thought I'd like it?

Later:
-Grandparents are moving to a retirement home and the family is… let's say… ransacking their house, taking whatever they like that the grandparents aren't taking with them
>It's creepy, like watching vultures, but anyway…
>Anything Asian, I mean ANYTHING, gets shown to me.
>"Look anon! It's Japanese! You can have it!"
>These things are actually 95% Korean because my grandpa got them while he served during the Korean War, but whatever
>Thanks, but I don't really want these things, please stop assuming I want any that's Asian-esque
>The final straw is when a cousin comes rushing over, bows deeply, says gibberish that sounds vaguely Chinese, giggles, & then hands over a pile of disposable chopsticks.
>"I thought you might want these!!"
>PLEASE STOP
