I found your problem. Complaining that your diet stops working when you stop following it is like complaining that your car stops working when you stop putting gas in it. The benefits of having gas in your car last for as long as you continue to put gas in it. Diets likewise, which is why short-term, self-regulated diet "programs" are entirely nonsense.

Instead of picking a "diet program" that you hate and sticking with it for a couple of days or weeks, adjust your diet (i.e. what you eat all the time) to maintain your desired weight. In particular, cut out liquid calories.

Exercise is good and worth doing, but it doesn't burn anywhere near as many calories as you think it does. Running (not walking) a full mile burns less than a can of Coke's worth of calories. Walking a mile burns about two Oreo's worth. Weight is managed primarily in the kitchen, not the gym.
