/cgl/ - Cosplay & EGL

I'm working on my first suit ever, never bothered before cause I can't into conventions (location). Thought I'd work on a really good one I'd be proud to wear in case I ever did got a chance (and for future Halloweens).

Long story short, going for an MGS3 Naked Snake/Big Boss. I read the /cgl/ sticky links and also these two guides:

I did well in the money department, got vietnam era tiger stripe BDU's, made a very decent STABO harness using a real worker's harness and adding separately bought meshing straps, got the vintage US pouches, etc.....

I didn't want to quite stop at just that, to me that was just buying things and putting them on so I wanted to make my own custom "armor" additions kinda like what Boss wears in Peace Walker. Incoming Pics of knee-pads.....

Alrighty so now I'm confused as fuck, pic very related...there's no way in hell I can make something that seamless out of craft foam but it makes for good reference material.

I've got the foam and I'm sure I can heat mold the larger "jutting" pieces like the shoulder pads as shown in the figurine pic but would I don't know how I'll be able to mimic that compression look with just foam.
