I'm going to assume you know how to cut fur for this (only cut the backing, just in case you don't), but if you know the size of your spike base I'd cut circles out of the fur to then push the spikes through. if the spikes need furring, do that first. Craft foam would probably collapse depending on the size. On average, how big of a spike are we talking?
