I need a hobby. I've managed to befriend some people, importantly people who actually share interests with me. There are so many anime characters I adore and I've grown interested in making costumes although I have very little experience on things like sewing.

So I have finally decided that I may perhaps consider maybe getting into cosplay.

The thing is, I'm still very self-conscious thus I don't want to attract attention or have my pictures taken. I'm not fat or butt ugly, it's just that I'm not photogenic at all so I don't like cameras. I imagine I'd feel like a huge asshole for not letting someone take a picture if they actually asked so I don't think I could even refuse it.

Any of you had problems like this? Can I fix my attitude or should I just drop this as a hobby?

"Just cosplay at home" isn't an option here, I'd end up wanting to take the costume to a con anyway.
