i just went to the chippy in my cosplay after a con, like literally 1 hour ago. tbf my cosplay was quite normal looking but fuck normies. disregard thier opinions, they don't like it? fuck 'em. freak them out, they hate you? good, you won't regret having a total stranger dislike you or think weirdly of you for one second while you walk past them.
do this and you will gain courage.
also you can often just get dressed at the con you know? i would bag up half my gear and put it on at the con for some cosplays.
