Meh. I'm on the same boat with, "Stop acting like you're the one suffering when your parents are buying this for you." When I started lolita I was underage, but I refused to let my parents buy anything in my first coord. I was 13, saved up babysitting money and boom, I was so proud of myself. Even gave me the time to research proper dresses.
Sure later my parents offered to buy me stuff if my grades were really good or for my birthday, so I know that side of the story too. But just the fact that she acts like it's coming from her wallet gets me irked.

A friend of mine who doesn't even wear lolita (yet, I'm teaching her atm) started talking about lolifying the SnK uniform... I keep trying to tell her politely that there's a 99% chance it's going to look terrible, but she's not getting the hint... I don't want to be mean and turn her away from lolita though by telling her it's going to look crap and I don't support this cosplay lolita BS... But she's just really sweet.
