I remember this interview.
So it seems Tetsu leaving was friendly, just him wanting to go a different path.
I seem to remember, I think from that same interview, Tetsu talking about Malice Mizer playing on the Budokan (merveilles), and he was working at some restaurant or something, and he was like "these guys are playing the Budokan, and I'm here", or something like that, kinda sad. Then again, at that point in time I think he was actually with Zigzo, which was a not so small band, I think they also were major at some point, so I dunno. Either Zigzo wasn't as big as I think, or it was before or after Zigzo.
That said, Tetsu never really stopped making music, and he always did what he wanted, which is cool on its own.
I remember some years ago I've read Tetsu did a solo acoustic live, and he performed one or two Malice Mizer songs by himself, because he was doing various songs from his past bands.

There was an interview with Tetsu about his departure for Malice Mizer. I believe he didn't got kicked out of the band but rather he wanted to leave due to musical differencies; he wasn't digging the sissy french pop thingy and wanted to do a more straightforward rock music. In fact his first band after Malice Mizer, Mega8Ball, was this alternative rock band with Tetsu rapping, sounds kinda like RHCP

Anyway, maybe he discussed with Mana and got kicked out, I don't know, but at that point in time, even though MM was fairly popular in the indies scene, it was still uncertain how famous they could get.
When Tetsu left in 1994, Malice Mizer was still playing at small venues for maybe 500 or 1000 people max.
In the interview, Tetsu said that he was working a part-time job in 1998 (so this was Zigzo days I guess?), and one night it was raining a lot and he had to work outside, that same day Malice Mizer was playing on the Budokan, so he was like "maybe if I didn't leave that band..."

I know Tetsu is still in contact with Kozi, I think Kozi and Tetsu even played together in some event (I think Kozi with ZIZ and Tetsu with nil, or something).
Would be cool if Kozi manages to get a live event with ZIZ, The Junejulyaugust and Moi dix Mois, and maybe do a few Mizer songs with Tetsu, one can dream.
Tetsu actually played Baroque (or maybe it was Kioku to sora) in one of his solo gigs. He was playing songs from his old bands, also played songs by Zigzo, I think he played them all acoustic, I wonder how the Malice Mizer song was. (Tetsu can actually play acoustic guitar, he played the acoustic guitar on Gogo no sasayaki)

Got a part of it translated (credit goes to Wandering Fox from -scape- forums):

Interviewer: And Malice Mizer?

Tetsu: Oh yeah, Malice Mizer. (Hahaha) One of the guys from my part time job was in it. He’s the kind of guy who cares a lot about his image so I can’t say where we worked. I was 18 and we used to hang out before that job. When he started working on a new band, he asked me, “Want to come sing?” I said “Yeah, sure.” and that world was created. It was fun, kind of like a culture fair. We made our own plans, because it was a completely unknown world to me. They wrote the music, and I wrote the lyrics and the melodies. It was interesting, like working a puzzle. We members were all good friends. Each concert was like a culture festival and I thought it was fun, but as we got more popular and when we decided on our major debut, I thought, “Is this the face I want to show the world?” On the verge of that debut, I ended up quitting, but pictures from back then keep popping up on the net… (hahahaha) So I guess the world is seeing that face anyway.
