I guess I don't really get why you got the brown colourway if you disliked it all that much, the dress comes in pink and mint as well, which sounds more up your alley.

Anyway, if you really want to force another colour onto it, your best bet is to take off both bows and the gold chain. Throw on a cardigan or bolero in a different colour, then add the bows and chain to the cardigan/bolero, maybe add some extra chocolate brooch as well. The layering of brown-another colour-brown will help the additional colour looks like it belong. Good colours to add are dusty pink and dusty mint (same shade as the other two colourways of Musee, if it works with the print it should work with your brown). Peach should also work, mustard yellow (if your skintone can pull it off), and darker, dustier colours like khaki should also work as well. Keep in mind that you still have to balance the colours with your socks, shoes, bag and headwear, so try not to go nuts with some weird-colour bolero that you can’t find matching shoes and hairbows for.

The dress itself is fairly versatile anyway. You can wear it simply with a plain lolita blouse and do simple sweet, or you can throw on your most hime-est of princess sleeve blouses, a tiara, a scepter and do OTT sweet chocolate princess. Or take off the two bows, gold chain and wait ties, add an otome-style cardigan and low-poof petti, and do a kind of almost-casual look. If you’re willing to go into quirky otome bright colours territory you could probably even do a red turtleneck underneath and coord it with darker brown.
