I've encountered a lot of those "Proud Otaku" a lot of times. They make random anime pages at facebook and keep spamming us with "The difference of Otaku and Weabo" posts (and denying that theyre big weabos). They also appear at cosplay events and hug cosplayers while smelling like shawarma.

And the "to express, and not to impress" is used as an excuse for their shitty, half-assed cosplays in my opinion. Most of them cant even tell the difference between a cosplay and a Halloween costume.
