i think punk lolita reminds Westerners too much of mallgoths, emo, scene, etc., and the teenagers that go with it. they associate the look with cheap Hot Topic shit and adolescent angst.

i like it too but it is difficult to overcome the social context for the stripes, plaid, funky hair styles, mixed patterns and textures, all that.
