I know this is a common peeve but I really despise the sexual connotations of the word Lolita. I hate that I had to turn NSFW off on my tumblr to be able to search for lolita fashion tags, which means I have to deal with seeing porn in addition to pretty dresses. I hate that normies think we're pedophile-pandering sex dolls because of a common misunderstanding of the name. I hate that the Nabokov Lolita fetish is even a thing, that people would read this book and think "yes, this is something that turns me on and I'm going to emulate it". If it weren't for these disgusting degenerates then we would only have to distinguish between our frilly clothes and a piece of literary fiction which would be so much easier (no one confuses goth fashion with a style of architecture), but no, fetishists just have to blur the line. This shit makes me so angry.
