I've gone to multiple conventions and almost every girl I've encountered without having other real-life connections to has either daddy issues/divorced parents, mental unstability, lived in bumfuck nowhere or turned into a fake boy. Usually some combination. OP, I think all guys who look for con gfs have this idealized image of a cute, slightly-petite single girl (albeit with friends around) cosplaying a well-made but humble character from something you like, is well-off, shares your beliefs and magically lives somewhere accessible and the only thing keeping you apart is that you'd never had a chance to meet and form a bond before.

That girl, anon, she does not fucking exist. Every girl you meet will be 20% that girl and 80% white trash abomination. The sooner you come to terms with the fact that your manic pixie /ourgirl/ doesn't exist, the sooner you can divest that desire into normie points and start seeking friends/gf who have character and stability. You can either take my advice or spend years learning the hard way.
