And less protective than quilted defences. Leather armour as we know it is a pretty big misconception, as it was primarily for attaching metal reinforcements too.

A quality, padded gambeson will do you better than any leather. Mount your Armour right to the gambeson, and you're set. They are fairly easy to make, and inexpensive to buy real ones, as long as you know what you're looking for and avoid poly-filled ones that don't cushion and will roast you alive. Get Dressed For Battle (GDFB is a good brand, and kultofathena.com has them cheap.

Also, I love KoA. Link the helm, and i'll tell you if its good.

Pic is me in my 15thC, stripped down for practice. My helm and gaunts are not pictured, but when needed, I add a maille skirt, brigandine chest harness, and pauldrons

>Thank you again, I just contacted my local chatelaine for more info, very excited.

OOH! Which kingdom and barony?

>Oh yes a truer statement is rarely said. One of the things that really got me at the local renn faire, especially with the cast!

I refuse to do demos for rennfaires anymore, for several reasons.

>What a scandalously short doublet!
With my robust codpiece, skewed hat and tall boots? I am a shining example of 15thC Italian fashion, and the reason the clergy women to take cold baths!

Both my parents are SCA, so I was raised in it. Im guessing you were too?
