Just do it any way, it wont matter, especially if you're not with a group. I know that you'll feel like you're not doing the character justice but it's just height and unless you have some crazy proportions, it wont even matter in photos.
Sincerely, a 5'9 anon who was too put off by her height to cosplay the shota characters she wanted to for years.
