The Grand Expedition is no more if I got my facts straights. And it's not so much that Gold wants pirates, but if I looked at a lot of the costumes online and at the event there's a metric ton of "generic knight/fantasy meme" rather than the classical stuff.
I haven't been to DF yet, but the group hype is currently heavy and I've been informed.
Triumvirate took a lot of the cool ancient characters when it was formed a long time back.

They too have fallen too knighthood.
