If you made a knockoff of Scarlet Primavera Waltz or Bless from Saint Michael, people would care even though neither dress is printed. Lolitas were angry about Hot Topic's knockoff Melty Moon bag, which is a non-printed item.
I'd consider a knockoff of a Kate Spade bag to fall into the same category. Yes, there's no print and it's not like the rights to making dinosaur bags belongs exclusively to Kate Spade, but this isn't just a generic dinosaur, it's ripped off of a specific dinosaur bag made by an established brand.
