Don't know where to source a costume piece? How to make something? Just lonely and want someone to talk to? youre probably in the wrong place, but for the first two ask your questions here!

i've been lurking here for a long time and i would love to know how you get started at all. I don't have any friends who are into cosplaying or convention-going. Hell, practically none of my friends even watch anime and the few times i've let my powerlevel slip, i've just been made fun of. Whenever i see people talking going to convetions, it always seems like they're going with people they know from other places. From what i can understand of what i've seen, most countries have local communities, but i don't know where to find these, is it just facebook or are there places (clubs, stores, etc.) where you can meet people that are interested in the same stuff? Same with making outfits in general, it all seems kind of overwhelming at first glance and i know practically nothing, so i'd really appreciate any feedback on the first few steps on even getting into the entire scene at all

so uh, i have no knowledge on makeup (and i'm a guy so i don't really want to go into a store and ask the staff for advice), but i have a small, but really noticeable scar i want to try and hide; how would i do that? also, any advice on treating old scars in general? oh and does drinking more water really make the small wrinkles less noticeable? they make me look like i'm 24/7 stressed out or something
