I hate people who buy an item and didn't think prior to purchasing it how they would wear it.

I hate it even more when it's a popular print and they have done no research, claim to find 'no worn photos' because they need to see something in the exact same cut and color.
Because the mental gymnastic you need to imagine swapping the pink out and replacing it with mint is too fucking hard.

And most of all, I hate how much I've helped these people because now they don't even try to work out an outfit they come straight to me and want me to feed them ideas. I've hindered their growth and don't know how to start fixing the problem other than to stop helping altogether.

out of curiosity, what is the dumbest thing you've seen seagulls get mad about?
or what was the worst advice that /cgl/ has ever given you? how did it turn out if you did follow the advice?

Is there a specific little girl you wanna cosplay? If so you have two main options: do it or don't do it.
You can go ahead and be who you want, but you might be extra conscious of your height or some asshole might give you crap or something
Or you can not cosplay the loli of your dreams and maybe go for a character closer to your height that you think you'd suit better, but it won't be what you really want
Which situation will most likely make you happier? Go with that one.

If I were you, I'd just go for it. Practice makeup techniques and poses/camera angles to be as loli-riffic and short-looking as you can. Maybe you can round up some friends who are taller than you to cosplay from the same anime/game/comic/movie/show/whatever with you.
Also, 5'7" isn't too terribly tall. Height is less important, if you have loli enough face then you should have minimal problems.

And remember, there are plenty of short girls who always get mistaken for high school students and all they really want is to cosplay big, tall manly men or seductive badass ladies who feel just like you.
