Buddy, just spend the two bucks at a drug store for a disposable razor. You're going to shred a hole in it if you try buzzing with an electric one.
Also if you want that distinctive "straight up over one eye, folded down over the other" military look, get it wet and shape it. There are tons of JROTC text and video tutorials about how to do that, basically you just get it wet post-shave.
