I just watched some kawaii pateen tutorials, including the recent one by Yui Minakata and... wow, she definitely has a different style of makeup from Misako. Definitely a lot trendier with more contouring and eyebrow filling going on. I remember with Misako it was just like 'well slap some fake eyelashes, glitter eyeshadow, and some lip gloss and you're good to go!" back when I was a newbie. For the longest time, I was so confused by half the drugstore makeup section before I started to really get into makeup. I also found it interesting she opted out of fake eyelashes though, since on youtube literally everyone and their grandmother has some sort of favorite fake eyelash for every occasion.

Any thoughts on that particular video? I just think it's interesting that some trends got adopted along the way even in lolita. Although it's been like 2-3 years since I watched one of these videos to be fair.
