I wish lolibrary had functioned better but it has not.
So I did a little digging beyond what has already been posted.
Some stats:
- There have been no 2019 entries that I can find. Pic related.
- The total number of entries of everything
contained in the entire current library is only 51,740.
- only 558 Entries are tagged 2018
- In 2018 monthly hosting fees rose, $170-290 mostly due to the choices Amelia made in their rebuild. Cost source: public post on their Patreon.
- they privately hold the old library database which was always intended to be public, accessible and open source for community contribution. Patreon contributions seem to cover operating costs, but their goal is 1,000/month despite year- long neglect and severely limited function.
- As of today, there has been no way for the community at large to submit or contribute to the library for well over a year despite assurances of ’soon,, we are working in it’.
- Lolibrary has been made into a privately held nonprofit LLC which implies ownership of the database as a private concern, not a public resources it was intended to be. There wasn't any transparency regarding this either.

Why are we as a community still supporting this project? At this point, I'd probably have more respect for someone coming in and making an actual small business for-profit endeavour out of it as a brand new project and having a community database that actually functions. But the community is so hateful and fickle that I'm not sure it would be supported.
