Thanks! The material is frosted perspex/acrylic that I cut using a laser cutter (and for the box holding the LEDs). It's distanced a little away from the LEDs so it diffuses them (see webm)

As for seeing out, I have my phone stuck on the inside, and the little hole is for the camera to see out of. I can only have it on for 3-4 hours though before I run out of battery.

Got the big panel of lights working. Was worried my homemade PCB wasn't going to work but thankfully it did. You can see in the webm what it's like without the diffusing material too.

Now all that's left is patterns.
