/cgl/ - Cosplay & EGL

I've always wondered about one thing, /cgl/. Why do the most masculine-looking girls always want to cosplay cute, petite girl characters even though they're like 5'9'' and have a really manly face? A lot of girls I know are like this and refuse to even try out crossplay for some reason even though they would look wonderful as a male character.

Do you have friends who always cosplay characters that just don't fit them at all but you don't have the heart to tell them straight?

Exactly. People who bitch about girls crossplaying as males don't seem to realize that a good deal of bishounen anime guys can't be pulled off accurately by western men unless they're exceptionally beautiful. I mean all this "waahh you should only cosplay as your own gender" shit I've seen around is ridiculous. I guess it's just that crossplaying for girls is regarded as somewhat immature and associated as something meant for vapid yaoi fangirls, but some do it because they can pull off the anime bishounen look better than the anime girl look.

I guess my best feature is that I'm pretty sincere. I hate double-faced people who suck up to everyone the other minute and the other they talk the most rancid crap about them behind their backs. People like that always make me wonder what they're talking about me to other people when I'm not around. If I don't like a person, I'm not going to act like an ass to them all the time but I'm not willfully licking their buttholes and then complain about the taste of shit.
