I guess it's safe to assume the Japanese mascot costumes require a lot more foam (maybe denser and thicker to hold shape better, and somehow kept light) than the American ones. Especially that way they can get such huge shape and not get slack in places. I like how in >>7817517 likely the person's head is looking out through the hat, which is pretty spiffy.
