And a lot of characters never really match what he author claims is their age. Ichigo was 15/16 for most of Bleach. Then there's the thousands of lolis that are really just 500 year old dragons or some shit. I do cringe a little when I realize my husbando is only 15 and might be 16 in a few chapters.
