I'l recommend at least trying to get through the anime. It's not long, easily accessible and is overall pretty fun and will be your best way to absorb what your character is about. Don't get me wrong it has some dumb premises and moments, but otherwise pretty tame compared to a lot of other "cute girls do shit" anime.

You seem really hung up on the idea that people need to post their own cosplay to give constructive criticism. /cgl/ isn't a hugbox we're here to give the cold hard truth and whether they want to take it and improve is their own choice. I wish I got more harsh criticism when I was a teen cosplayer because I made a lot of dumb mistakes myself.

Not sure where LL has forced drama besides the end of season 1 and how long it took Eli to stop being a bitch.

What I like about LL anime:
>Character designs. Mostly unique but without her glasses I get Hanayo and Honoka mixed up some times
>Good music and lots of it. Unlike K-On
>Girls actually work hard at practicing and coming up with songs
>Nico being a kind of fourth wall on how fake idols are in actuality
>Lack of fanservice besides Nozomi's boob grabs. At least she's subtle rather than the OMG BOOBIES that usually accompanies this trope
>Everyone has a backstory and is mostly likable. Nico is polarizing
>School duties and classes are still a concern. Most high school animes only use the school as a backdrop
>Genuine feels
>Those alpacas

What I don't like:
>Lack of other idol groups during the big competition. Only one other group actually gets a dance sequence and basically conceeds defeat by the final prelims
>Lack of followup on Maki's backstory
>Kotori threw away a huge opportunity because 'muh nakama'


I play the game too and while you don't need to have seen the anime to enjoy it I think it helps a lot. The story is certainly a lot better
