Since there is always that one cringe thread that always posts unconventionally attractive cosplayers and labels them as cringe for not being attractive enough.
Cosplay isn't the best hobby for someone who is philosophically against lookism, too.

HOWEVER, one can still do cosplay alone for oneself and oneself only, as well for the sake of enhancing one's skills relating to clothes et al. by practicing making crafty cosplay, etc. if one is leaning towards a career in fashion, or so.
Maybe even doing it for someone special if you have one of those; though the very first special person has to be you, of course.
