Not really, other than how ungodly hard it was. Washout rate of 90%. Out of the remaining 10%, 7% graduate. Out of that seven, 1% get into RB&BB circus. I graduated, but didnt get in. Probably for the best.

I AM a carnie. My family on my Maternal Grandfather's side is all circus and carnival folk, focusing on sideshow (my main act) and clowning.

Be objective, and don't lie to me now: was he an asshole, or did you let yourself be a mark? Did he scam you, or did you simply fell into his game? The big one is, will you still go to a carnival again, and enjoy yourself?
I am not defending you getting fleeced by the guy as something thats OK, and my folks are better than that...Im not though. I'm a stage artist, so I don't work a box, board or beat, but if I need money, and creative talk can mean the difference between $2 and $20, I'll aim for the ducat.
