There are several of us who are professional armourers (as in, making a living off of it) and SCA/WMA/BotN/ACL combatants in the larp threads.

Don't let the larp part fool you, we just use it as a blanket for medieval martial arts, recreation and reenactment, as well as roleplaying.

Not a fan of the wig style itself, but boat-wigs are very popular in the 18thC for costumed balls.

That said, I have no idea what 18thC pirates have to do with the Renaissance.
