So I made a stormcloak uniform last year and I plan on using the costume for this year halloween. The thing is, I quilted a textile fabric for the cuirass, when the "accurate" version is supposed to use quilted leather/animal hide.

I was thinking, would I have enough time from now until halloween to somehow make my cuirass look like leather? Is what I want to do even possible or a good idea? I read some sources that used chalk paint to convert their fabrics to what looked like leather, but I don't want to go ahead and just ruin my cuirass. I spent ass loads of time putting the thing together last year.

Anyone have experience or advice in the matter?
