Whenever I see cosplayers receive "hate", half the time it's just "this one detail should be a bit better but aside from that good". At worst it's just uncalled for but I've seen people react to this with absolute vitriol like it's a personal attack. I have seen actual hate though, so then reactions become a bit more understandable then.

Then again, since it's never happened to me, I guess I can't really understand it either way. If anything, thanks to this board I'd probably go, "yeah, I guess I should work on that".

So then I wonder, who's in the right and who's in the wrong? You have one party, the cosplayer, and another, the critic. The critique could be rude or it could just be tactful, but either way it's unwarranted. Would you be wrong for being upset especially since you can't really stop them from doing so, or would they be wrong for critiquing when it was not desired? I guess you can't really stop people to do so, you can't expect people to just be nice, but then, what's the point of being rude, either way? I'm just a bit confused.

No one really likes anything I post, either on Facebook, Tumblr, or elsewhere. While someone could post WIPs and get at least ten likes, I could also do the same and receive basically none. Does it just mean I'm not good enough, or am I just caring too much?
