I made the sword out of sanded acrylic and thought a handful of LED bulbs would light it up but that was far from it.

I want to line the sword with LED Strips. Whats the best way to compactly light LED strips? They're 12V LED strips and I read online it won't last long on a 9V battery. Any tips on powering it? As of now I just plan to have a handful of batteries and turn it on for pics.
