I like to cosplay some BL characters but honestly if I ever saw a guy cosplaying one, I would only assume he's doing it to get girls, has a girlfriend force him into it or just maybe perhaps just vaguely enjoys it but that would be rare.

BL isn't made for guys, it's made for girls and targeted at girls. The stuff made for guys is usually the hardcore bara stuff like Gengoroh Tagame or similar artists, Mentaiko etc. Not something to cosplay let's be honest (Okinawa Slave Island cosplay when).

Women cosplaying BL stuff is fine by me, I prefer it though I'm big on OPs example of girls who try and make it a whole fake boy thing. I'm also not big on the west trying to do the contour/BL style make up and doing it so wrong it looks like dirt on their face.

Different person with another panel idea looking for feedback. I want to do one based off BL visual novels and explore more obscure VNs, how to play them, how to set things up, which ones have translations and discuss all aspects for someone who may have only played DMMD to get properly into BL VNs. I also want to do a dumb game and maybe give out a couple of prizes.

The yaoi panel last year was just as I expected, dreadful. I kinda want to try something myself for actual good BL stuff and not just random images found on google search put on a powerpoint.
