I'm trying to make rippable velcro sleeves, so it will look like a full suit, but when ripped it will actually appear as though it was ripped. Would it even be possible to keep it looking clean on the seams?

I want to make a suit for Bolin with rippable sleeves, yet still keeping the details so that it appears ripped instead of just having it be a clean velcro rip. Is that even possible? I've been talking to others, and so far I've got that I'm going to make it two layers, with the velcro a little further in, and slightly extended sleeves. The outer layer of the suit would look a little clean in the rip, but the white shirt underneath would appear to be torn.
