Ha, the bush was actually the photographers idea.
It was either that, or hordes of people on ugly concrete. In all honesty, this picture was taken while my main focus was the photographer in front of me, if I knew this photographer was taking pics from that angle I would have made an effort to move the rubbish out of the way.

That's becusee it wasn't based on the originals, it was based off La Reconquista (pic related)
We chose a glitter PVC for the skirt, because in many of the references the top skirt has a shimmering wet look to it, (I should have starched it to keep the pleat shape, oops). The under skirt fabric was chosen solely for the glitter, which only after the con photos emerged did we realise it didn't actually show up at all.
So 100% the underskirt looks terrible and I'm hunting for a better replacement fabric.
Ha, funny thing about the bodice is, my invisible zipper broke that day as I was putting Myu on, I ended up having to safety pin myself into the costume which is the cause for the ill fitting bodice.
