I remember when I first saw this happening OP.

Remember when it used to take months and months to get even a promo image for an anime/game from Japan?
As soon as we started getting stuff the same month it came out in Japan I began to see the "me first" wagon hoppers.

Final Fantasy X was more than 8 months from release here in the US and still had something like 6 months to go before release in Japan and I started seeing Rikkus and Yuna's all over the fucking place. I was like...what if the game sucks? What if you HATE that character? What if she does things like suck 50 cocks and then has a baby with her brother? Why in the hell would you ever cosplay anything before it came out?

It's not quite as bad when a series has made a debut. But still, if you aren't at least 5 eps in, why make it?

For me, it's a HUGE HONKING MARKER that you are more about attention than you are about loving a show/game/book.

The only excuse I can think of is being totally in love with the character design that you just had to make it now. But then again if you were so in love with it then you'd want it to look perfect and would take your time on it. When you see the majority of "me first" they are sloppy as hell.
