My pet peeve is people who are "such big fans" but don't support the series they're "such big fans" of.

I letter manga, including a series that runs in Shonen Jump, and I really want people to get into it, so I'm always recommending the magazine to people. More often than not, they have some sort of excuse ready for me. Especially when it's my friends.
>But Jacuzzi, it's too expensive!
It's like $26 a year and you get something like 50 weekly issues.
>There's too much of a gap between the Japanese release and the English release
…It's like a day? Maybe two?
>Why don't they release it when the scanlators do?
Because they get leaked scans that are released before the magazine hits shelves in Japan and there is NO WAY that Japanese Jump would let the English version be released earlier.
>But I only read like 2/3 of the series in it, so there's no reason for me to subscribe.
HOW DOES THIS MAKE IT OKAY TO PIRATE THE TITLES?

I swear, pirating anime/manga is like some sort of Weeb Badge of Courage with some of my friends. I pirate shit too, I won't lie about that. But if I like it? I try to support it. Series I'm interested is simulcast on Hulu? WHY WOULDN'T I WATCH IT THERE? I just don't get it.

If someone lives someplace where they don't have legal access to this stuff, that's a different story, but 99% of the people I've talked to about this DO have access to it, but always find bullshit reasons to avoid supporting the industry and that seriously pisses me off.

Wow, I guess I'm really angry tonight.
