Someone I know was rambling about how when Vocaloid was getting majorly popular and the concerts started happening in Japan, a bunch of musicians started protesting/boycotting because "Vocaloid is virtual and made by computers, so it's taking business away from us REAL musicians". And she was entirely on their side, saying Vocaloid will "destroy the Japanese music industry"

Do people think you just click a button and Vocaloid magically generates a song for you?
