A lot of these will be common sense but given some of the questions that have been asked around cgl lately you can never be too careful.
-Use actual eyelash glue
-Apply your eyeliner first, then the falsies
-Apply them as closely to your lash line as possible, and follow the natural curve of your lash line (don' try to tilt them to fight your eye shape, trim them if you must)
-Try not to use too much glue, even the shit that dries clear will be a bit shiny and will be noticeable if you overdo it.
-Pay close attention to the inner corners of your eyes, that's the area that most people tend to have trouble with as far as getting them to stay in place, be slightly more generous with your glue there if you have to but again don't over do it
-Don't leave the house if they look like this

Holy fucking shit, I knew her makeup application was horrible but seeing it this close makes my stomach turn. What the actual fuck, why do people idolize this girl?
