I'm glad my postal lady is cool.

From experience, just rescheduling a delivery the next day is quicker and you have to deal with less local office bullshit. You can do it online on the night you get the notice and leave notes as to what they can do in the event you are not there for redelivery, who to leave it with, etc. so long as you have a tracking number.

If they don't redeliver, raise hell through support on the webpage if the local office doesn't answer the phone. The complaints or inquiries I've made have gone directly to the higher ups and the responses I've gotten after the automated confirmation e-mails were from actual people.

I hope this helps out some Americanons that haven't tried it yet.

>selling manga I never read anymore on eBay
>get a winning bid on a couple, buyer pays
>sweet, print out label (he opted for first class)
>send it on its merry way - I usually have the postman pick it up where I work
>check tracking for my outgoing packages periodically
>it's been two weeks and this guy in the same state as I am STILL hasn't gotten this manga
>all of my other parcels have arrived to their destinations and a few feedback has trickled in
>Message buyer to ask if it has arrived and tracking hasn't updated and what all
>he confirms that he hasn't received it
>I get pretty proactive and shoot an inquiry to USPS.
>Next day get message from the postmaster in his area saying they're looking into it
>Manga appears in buyer's mailbox a couple of days after
>Success!
That was a potential horror story that ended up in a good place.
