So a friend wants to commission me to make a cosplay for him, pic related specifically and I've never done a commission before and wouldn't take the job if he wasn't a friend. I'm at all sure what to charge him for this because it's work and it's not the easiest cosplay in the world to make either, but he's a good friend, so I don't feel like I want to charge him what I would if I was doing this professionally. But I'm also not sure if he understands the cost of commissioning a custom cosplay either.

Or other words, I'm stuck because I don't even have a baseline, but I do want decently fair compensation for the work while also doing my friend a favor by charging him less than a pro would.
