How does one get better at dancing? Any tips? I know the basics such as don't be lifeless, smile, practice in front of a mirror, big moves should be big etc, but some great dancers have a certain crispness to their movements that I can't for the life of me pinpoint exactly other than "all moves are very precise".

Is there a way to get better, other than practicing a lot? Do classes help? What kind of classes would one even look for?

I'm not interested in the idol part of this, I just like dancing and watching dance covers. Why is it so hard to be good?
