The British Soldier thing actually has to do with surplus stores. Every army has their own unique camo pattern that cannot be sold to civilians so left over British uniforms are sold here where it's not the official state pattern, hense why you see so many British uniforms floating about.
So if you see someone wearing pic related you should be more offended since its disrespecting the state colours and taking a uniform that a soldier could be using.
