As a fellow glasses-wearer, I try to have at least one day of the con where my cosplay includes glasses (I have prescription sunglasses to mix things up) to save my eyes.
That being said, I have a pair of glasses with clear frames that are pretty unobtrusive I'll wear at times. I find it helpful sometimes for holding a wig in place, and once or twice I've even had remarks that the glasses added a "scholarly" or "wise" feeling to an older character.
