It's a nice and funny feel to be reminded of how far I've come in my lolita journey. I know there's a lot of ups and downs, especially once you get communities involved, but it's a neat feeling to be a part of some kind of sub-culture and to think of myself in the possible future, looking back at fond memories of making friends with similar weird interests.

This is pretty accurate. It looks like the lolita comm there's the same way - a few people over 21, but a lot of youngins. They're not as bad as the cosplay kids at zap though; couple of them actually want to do well surprisingly and it's pretty fortunate that most who don't only lurk (hopefully they'll come around).

Go ahead and join the Chicago comm (there are three Illinois comms, but Chicago's the main one).
We're actually getting a lot of younger members (people just entering college) and it's a big comm in general, so I'm sure you'll find someone to be friends with, and there's no harm in introducing yourself and making online friends before meeting irl.

I'm iterating public opinion. It really is a no brainer. It's a fashion, thus you need to take strides to work with what you've got. There are fat girls that pull it off, there are ways to make tattoos less visible, alternatively, I've personally seen kawaii tattoos, they're just few and far between. Sad fucks like the girl in the OP image need to work harder to make it work. For starters, stand up straight, get better shoes, get a petti.
If you want to be taken seriously, you need to conform at least a little bit to the standard that has been set before you.

Oh we do twin when we can! It's fun to see how our styles differ when we are trying to come up with matching coordinates. As for buying a second piece, it depends on how much we both liked it. If it was something we both adored, absolutely, as long as it's not selling for like 2x-3x retail. Like we probably wouldn't buy duplicates of anything over $400 unless we really, really both were over the moon about it. We are different sizes/shapes though, so, we can't just twin in everything anyways.

Yes, we dress up to go on dates and stuff sometimes.

Você está errada ou mora em São Paulo. É bem verdade que a maioria das lolitas brasileiras tem um senso de moda absurdamente ridículo mas elas também não tem dinheiro pra trazer coisas de fora. Os fretes pra América do Sul são absurdamente caros.
A Karine se destaca porque tem as duas coisas e isso é raro mas ela ainda comete uns erros de novata aqui e ali - tipo usar 3 a 4 tons de vermelho no mesmo coord. Sem contar a falta de expressão das fotos que ela posta no blog.
Acho que ela desistiu de melhorar. Eu não a culpo.
