Not quite sure what I could do to get the base to match the wig, but that is something helpful to consider.

I would have guessed that a higher gauge wire would have been better, but I guess that shows how much I know. The wire I'm using now is 20 gauge from the jewelery section of Michael's (pic related). How much smaller would you suggest I go?
