It only makes sense to me personally if the person doesn't quite get the lolita thing yet and is just wearing leg ave pettis with a hot topic pseudo-corset top and pigtails. If you're doing it right, even if it's proper ero-loli (does it even exist?) most people wouldn't call lolita slutty unless they're basing it solely off the name.

My mom loves my outfits, but only refers to it as rufflebutt because she really doesn't like associating it with lolita. She's an obstetrician and has seen a few too many pregnant twelve year olds.
